Greatest Generation: We beat Germany in grenade toss and landing beach volleyball and crushed Japan in the bombathlon.
Silent Generation: Must defeat Soviet cheaters to prove our Way of Life is superior (though our kids really should learn math).
Baby Boomers: America is the underdog but we always win because we defied our parents and really deserve this! I’d like to teach the world to sing, and we can have it all! The whole world is united, to watch America win!
Gen X: Rigged commercialized bullshit.
Millennials: Where’s my Audience Participation Gold Medal? Give me a trigger warning before anybody loses.
A New Financial You in 28 Days! A 37-Day Plan was praised by Word Hits! Thank you, Sarah!!! Read the Word Hits post for advice on great reading for when you’re on the road!
At my college reunion this weekend, I read from ANFY28A37DP as part of an Authors’ Panel I organized. I read “Day 25,” which was excerpted last summer in Spirituality & Health magazine’s “Books in Bloom” blog, which unfortunately isn’t online right now.
Four of my classmates, all wonderful writers, also read:
Jonathan Silverman – author of Nine Choices: Johnny Cash and American Culture (2010). Read an interview about the book with Jonathan here.
Unfortunately, Harold Ambler (Don’t Sell Your Coat: Surprising Truths About Climate Change (2011), and Ever True: The Story of Brown Crew (2009); articles in The Wall Street Journal, The Huffington Post, etc.; blogs at Talking About the Weather) had to bow out, because he had to soundcheck his band for a performance at dinner.
I suffer from literary envy now and then, but when a writer has a band, my envy goes off the scales!
Thanks to all our classmates who attended!
